Thames Christmas Extravaganza
Greetings from Midland, Texas! This is Ricky and Lucy Thames 2011 Christmas display. This is my 14th year of decorating. Below are a few statistics of this year's display: Lights - 66,804; Amps - 240.71; (Animation - 176.15 amps peak, Static - 64.56 amps) Installation time - 127.75 hours; Building new decorations - 128 1/2 hours; Designing, planning, sequencing and music - 50 hours; Extension cords - 307; Length of extension cords - 6,578 feet; Watts - 28,885; Timers - 11; Three way taps - 76; Spotlights - 14; Strobe lights - 145; Circuits - 18; LOR units - 12 (155 channels); Cat 5E cable - 549 feet. I started putting out the lights on September 23rd and had the grand lighting on Thanksgiving night. New in my display this year is a 10 foot light ring tower, 2 - 10 foot red mini-mega trees, rock-in ruddy wireframe, wall of lights consisting of 111 strands of lights, red and green strobes and new music. This is the 5th year we are collecting canned goods for the local Soup Kitchen. We have a lot of traffic every night looking at our display and taking pictures and video.
