I wanted to do something different with my 2013 trophy. With a little engineering... here's what I came up with.

Do these count toward the tacky lights? We have 10K lights but we also have 3 domes with bulbs inside them which transmit a ton of lights in the trees/house, etc. How do I count this in my count?

On for the whole month of December. Over 250,000 lights all over town. Lights dance to music transmitted to your car. One of the largest live Christmas Tees in the state. Numerous luminaries and inflatables. Just a mile away from the Essex Steam Train and its ride with Santa.

What do you think about this news from Pete Kasperowicz at TheBlaze?

Are you discouraged, worried or more excited than ever to put up your Christmas lights?

From what I have heard, they want to ban ALL non UL Listed lighting that comes from places like China because they are either not safe or (the biggest thing) the wire is TOO thin!

I started with a lights and sounds of Christmas box when I was about 12-13. I started with light-o-rama when I was 16. It can be done but the best piece of advise for whenever you do decide to get into it is to try to know someone with a large amount of experience that you will be able to go to when you have troubles. Light-o-rama can have varying degrees of difficulty depending on how extravagant you want to make everything and it all gets quite expensive pretty quickly. I can't make the recommendation that you jump into it this early in life but depending on your computer abilities and support structure it could be done in the coming years. I'd probably suggest some of their videos, the trial software to practice the program, and maybe a jump starter class before spending any money though.

Do you have video of your display? I complied a list of vendors holding contests. Try entering... you might win.
