Well, I think the best way is something that has a strong deterrent to theft.
A five gallon bucket filled with cement, that has a metal post connected to your donation box.
I would then wrap a chain around your a tree or other large item. wrap it around your post twice, and then lock it with a nice lock.
That is the system that I have heard over and over again from many others, so that is what my plan was.
Oh, also a sign that has the name of the charity, and state the money is removed nightly.
