I started out many year ago just installing your basic lights around the yard and on the house. It was just several hundred lights. But that was not good enough for me! I went several thousand
Yeup, I am in the same boat. My wife keeps a tight fist on the checkbook when light sales are going on. Oh I get some, but I don't get to double my light count every year. :D My light count may have gone down this year as I don't think I will be using ANY rope light this year.
It is had to have a nice balance between the largest display in the area, and still having a friendly rivalry with online friends.
That is what makes this hobby/maddess/obsession so great.
I have a holiday brilliant but tons of controllers I've been doing shows for two years and I'm twelve would light I Rama be to hard for me
I started with a lights and sounds of Christmas box when I was about 12-13. I started with light-o-rama when I was 16. It can be done but the best piece of advise for whenever you do decide to get into it is to try to know someone with a large amount of experience that you will be able to go to when you have troubles. Light-o-rama can have varying degrees of difficulty depending on how extravagant you want to make everything and it all gets quite expensive pretty quickly. I can't make the recommendation that you jump into it this early in life but depending on your computer abilities and support structure it could be done in the coming years. I'd probably suggest some of their videos, the trial software to practice the program, and maybe a jump starter class before spending any money though.
