Been playing with this idea and it won't happen this year but most likely will happen next year... I'm thinking about a walk through Mega Tree... this would allow people to be able to use my sidewalk to come up and greet Santa.

The basic idea is I would 2 metal arches to support the remainder of the middle pole... also have the lights draped back so that it looks like a walkway but from a distance you see the mega tree and people walking through it....

What are your thoughts on this and what would be the best way to design, build and construct something like this?

I love the idea. I was toying around with the idea of 4 arches that formed a square. I was going to do basically the same idea where the main sidewalk would go through, and then the path to the house would go through the third side.

I think the first question is how tall?
You might be able to 4 poles coming up from the "corners", and then have a 5 pole come up from the center of those. Use a heavy duty band clamp, like CDI sells to hold them together. The 5th pole I wouldn't make any taller than really necessary due to extra weight.
I think I would lay out the ring using a garden hose to get the shape of your ring.

Now that I think about it I think Daryl over at Christmas Light Show sells a "5 way tee", that might be the perfect ticket here also.
