1 lb. apples - sliced
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk

Peel, core and slice apples to make 3 cups. Place apples in buttered 1 quart dish. Combine brown sugar and spices and sprinkle over apples. Cover and bake for 30 mins. at 375 degrees or until apples have softened. Cream butter with sugar. Add egg and beat together. Sift dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternating with milk until blended smooth. Spread over cooked apples and bake at 375 degrees for 30 mins. Serve warm by itself or with vanilla ice cream
