TIME FOR THE TACKY LIGHT TOUR!
Certainly a holiday favorite for me is the tacky light tour. Turns out Richmond has so many over-the-top decorated houses it will be the subject of a TLC holiday show airing December 9th. (Consult your TV Guide for time). This year there are 80 homes with at least 20,000 lights who are on the tour and they're all over the Richmond area. you can take a look at the list by going to the website, www.tackylighttour.com.

LOVING THOSE TACKY DISPLAYS.
It's a Christmas favorite for me...Driving around looking for the Clark W. Griswolds of Richmond! If you've seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation then you know what I'm talking about. 20,000 imported Italian twinkle lights, Santa and his sleigh, Frosty next to the baby Jesus in the nativity scene, glorious over-indulgence with your holiday lighting display. Richmond has a penchant for these displays. So much so, that Matt Burgess has created a website with some of our area's biggest and tackiest displays and how to get to them. You can check it out for yourself at www.tackylighttour.com. I've got a ton of relatives coming in for the holiday this year, so I've got the house tastefully decked out in wreaths and solid white lights. How would you describe your lighting this year? In our December 12th poll, 63% said 'small and tasteful.' 1% said 'loud and tacky.' 34% of you had no lighting display saying it was too much work and too expensive to operate.
